What were the steps included in the 2025 Update?
The FMP update process began in January 2024. The FMP was adopted by the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors in March 2026. The process included the following:
- Creating the FMP Committee
- Conducting FMP Committee Meetings to guide the FMP’s development
- Modeling FEMA’s Hazus Program using the County’s information
- Evaluating the flood hazards
- Developing mitigation measures
- Conducting public meetings to inform the public and solicit its input
- County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors adopting the FMP
